I am sorry but paper training is the worst thing you can do.

I had a dachshund many years ago, that my husband gave me the puppy a Christmas present. It took me until Moritz was 3 month old when he was totally house broken.

How is paper training the worse thing you can do? This is not merely paper training, it’s a fixed location in our house where newspaper is inside a 1 ft. x 2 ft. tray, and she NEVER makes mistakes in the house. She uses the tray whether we’re home or not. Oh, and she’s a TINY dog at 3 lbs.

I got a sheltie puppy years ago. The minute he was out of the carrier, I asked him if he wanted to go outside, put his collar and leash on him, took him outside, let him pee, brought him back inside, and fed him. Ta-DAAA!
