As a fellow Gideon, I have a tricky way to get those Bibles into college kid’s hands. They like to wear ear buds listening to music and ignore the regular offers like they don’t hear you. Ask if they want a free GPS and a miracle happens. The deaf can hear and they immediately make eye contact and accept the Bible...as I say “Here’s your free GPS... God’s Plan of Salvation!”. Try it, you’ll be amazed! Then share this with your camp.

I have travel a lot and I find it very comforting to know that the Christian Bible is there.
Today, I also find the mormon bible, and sometimes even a koran.

My father was in the military and was transferred to Hanscome AFB in Massachusetts in the 50s. I was in 4th grade. First thing in the morning as the school day started we prayed The Our Father, then Pledge of Allegiance, and finally, we sang Battle Hymn of the Republic. Try that in Massachusetts now.

When my daughter graduated from nursing school at the local community college last year, a church was handing out New Testaments.
I taught in Boston, MA——1954-1956-—we started the day with the 23rd Psalm,the phrase “under God” was added to the pledge,and we sang “America”.
