Between Sept. 14-20, the Russian armed forces will conduct a major exercise, ZAPAD 2017. Employing forces from various Russian commands, the exercise will test the military's ability to conduct a combined arms offensive. That's exactly the kind of operation Russia would use to invade Europe.

While there's nothing new in the Russians carrying out a military exercise, this situation is different due to the scale and location of the forces involved. Russia claims under 10,000 personnel will be involved but as many as 100,000 Russian soldiers are actually expected to deploy. Their number will include armored and artillery units, and strike fighter aircraft. As interesting, instead of training in Russia, the forces will conduct their exercises in Belarus. Well, I have 100% certainty that Eastern Europe is the end game for Putin. The Ukraine, then the Baltic States, then Poland.

With that said, doesn't the US have enough problems of its own? There is a battle going on with Swamp Republicans being obstructionists due to their hatred for Trump, the Deep State still trying to undue the power of Trump, and a borderless nation.

The first one Hunt For Red October is I think the best.
But Red Storm Rising is great as well. Red Storm has more things going on it; but Clancy does a superb job tying it together

They made their bed, they can suffer the consequences.

I refer, of course, to their lousy ranking for citizen gun ownership...

If they cant learn from their own history they rate zero for US blood and/or treasure.

No, just Putin being the pain in the ass that makes him Putin.

The Muslims better pray to Allah that Putin doesn't take over anywhere in Europe.

Always wondered by the US bothers to man and keep bases in Western Europe. I say pull them all home and let the Eurotrash deal with their own defense.
