A point I made to both my sons when all their friends were vaping and thinking it was "cool." Right along with "Just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you SHOULD.
Now, there are more ways than simply smoking marijuana to get the benefits of pain relief. Smoking it just happens to be the fastest way to get it into your system. It can be eaten, there are extracts (drops to put under the tongue) that provide much relief to those of us with severe and chronic pain management issues who don't want to take opiods without getting fully "stoned" on it. There are benefits to be had, the problem IMO is that the big drug companies haven't found a way to control it and profit off of it so that's where drug laws and the modern day "war on drugs" comes into play.
For the record: I'm not a pot smoker/user. I used to be a pretty hardcore warrior in the "war on drugs" and I've come to the conclusion that I don't see much of a difference in smoking pot vs. drinking. Both can be done in moderation by those who imbibe and as long as that's done I have no problems with either.
I always wondered about that ‘burning bush’ Moses hung around at on Mt. Sinai.
There are plenty of YouTube video's with recipies on how to properly bake marijuana into food too. Your local rag probably got the idea from a local pothead who found those video's on YouTube.
Plenty of websites with that information too.
