I couldn’t help wondering if this whole anthem protest was a desperate PR stunt to bolster ratings. If so, it is doubly stupid.

If I owned a company that was losing profits, the last thing I’d want to do is alienate my customers. These people invariably sabotage themselves through distorted thinking.

Ummmm, way worse than that. You do something that makes your most faithful, rabid, lifelong fans take their overpriced affinity merchandise, burn it, and send you the ashes...

Then you double down to insult them further...

You don't just have a problem on your hands, it's way beyond that.
