I learned that trick early on as well. Most of my classmates didn’t care though,at least as far as can remember,
But I do remember my mother telling me that the org. was tweaking its stance on the Pledge and we were allowed to stand, the idea being that remaining seated could be mistaken as a sign of disrespect or defiance toward our govt.
Just out of curiosity, were you baptized in the faith?

You’re right.....

No - she said, a note would allow them NOT to say the pledge but they were still required to stand by state law.

Heck, when I was in school and I probably speak for a lot of FReepers, it was NEVER discussed. It was taught and that was it! In the 40’s and 50’s, it would not have been a problem that came up.

Anyone using the public school system -- funded by taxpayers -- as a protest platform, should be expelled.
If you won't support the country, you shouldn't get the goodies.

Like most JW kids are, I was pressured into getting baptized around age 17 so that I could get married at age 18

I remember watching quite a few of my friends getting dunked at a district convention for that reason and the pressure
I left home at 18, unbaptized.
Now in my 40’s, I still get the regular return visit from the neighborhood JW’s, courtesy of a phone call from my parents

Stand for the flag.
Kneel before the cross.
Our insane society, that thinks there are dozens of different pronouns for homosexual perverts, has everything backwards.

Yes and they were all nigglets.

Her goal is to start a conversation.
She says she didnt tell her son to do that at school on Monday.
So which is it? Leftists love using children as a way to get attention for themselves.

Geez, at 6 years old, the kid should be more concerned with coloring inside the lines, and how to write his name. I somehow don’t think that Social Injustice against his Black Brethren is very high up on his list.

Are we playing Guess the ethnic group? They didn't even give a first name of the mother OR child. So we pretty much know without guessing.

Its not really the first grader’s age. It’s the nfl players emotional age.

If NFL coaches/owners would have done the same thing this teacher did the first time Kaepernick took a knee during the National Anthem it would have been great! Sent an e-mail to his mommy?
