The only way the school will let the kid kneel is for a signed note from the parent.

If the parent does this the kid is gonna get pounded by his peers.

Might be a good life lesson.

The kid can opt out of carrying the pledge with a note from his parents, but must stand quietly while the others say it.

No - she said, a note would allow them NOT to say the pledge but they were still required to stand by state law.
