Most drivers have their homes damaged and are dealing with their own problems/family. OR have been hurt or unable to get to docks. OR they evacuated as asked....

The food and supplies have been in port for several days, and need to be moved to distribution locations.

Thank you for explaining it for me. So all the hoopla about the Jones Act was just bull... the non-US ships couldn’t have made effective use of their cargo anyway. Sorry, but I’m kind of having a hard time with the fact(?) that none of the locals can help each other out. And do we not have choppers and troops to deliver to the outlying villages? It’s just that I see a whole bunch of complaints about the US gov, and very little humble-bragging ( which would be totally fine about now) from the locals about what they are doing to help themselves.

This sounds like a huge whiff by the Disaster Preparedness Organization(s?) that would deal with PR. It’s probably a problem a decade or more in the making.

There have to have been SOME indications of trouble in past events... Maybe no one ever asked something along the lines of “what if what happened last year was twice as bad and covered 80% of PR, instead of 10%?”

This is VERY likely libs at work — people who usually have little ability to project down the road more than a step or two.

I wonder who has been most directly in charge of FEMA’s responsibility for PR for the last several years?. (I confess ignorance of FEMA’s structure — I would assume they have some one person in charge of each State or Territory(?) who then reports to either a regional director or to the Fema Nat’l director him/herself.
