Vegas killer booked hotels overlooking Lollapalooza before Vegas massacre

Las Vegas mass killer Stephen Paddock booked two hotel rooms overlooking the Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago this summer, according to a report Thursday.

Paddock specifically requested both rooms to have a sweeping view of Grant Park — about 500 yards away — but never showed up, sources told TMZ.

Among the 400,000 people who packed the venue in the Windy City was Malia Obama, 19, the former president’s older daughter.

It’s tough to haul 23 long guns on the (commercial) plane.

No. Looks like he just changed his mind. Looks like he was just an evil suicidal guy looking for fame. I also wonder if he was a tweeker since it has been reported that he had recently lost wait.

He had rented out our treehouse. Looks like I dodged a bullet. Maybe several.

“He might have been looking for a tail.”

Trial runs for many purposes. Testing. Spotting a tail. Setting a pattern so the real event was a normal occurrence that would raise no suspicions.

If it were me, I’d do that. Test, try, check, double check. Hey, anything worth doing is worth doing well. Sadly, this guy was some flavor of whack job, but with skills.

I wonder if he had a terminal illness. Maybe some kind of cancer, and it just set him off. Maybe he just got angry, maybe he had some mental illness problems before but this put him over the edge. He decided to take a bunch of people with him.

Long drive to Chicago.
Excellent point. I wonder if he rented a U-Haul to transport all the guns?

He did have a pilots’ license. He could have flown in on a small charter plane with that.

Democrat spin. See gun control in Chicago worked.

sounds more like a ISIS inspired attack on a large American crowd - any outside, tightly packed, American crowd would do...

I agree that it would seem such. Need some positive proof to make the connection. Otherwise he's just a sick POS who worked his way up to actually executing the sick ideas forming in his head.

I believe his license to fly lapsed in 2013 and he needed a health review to renew it.

Probably saw the increased security and said it wasn’t worth the risk..I think he was casing out venues to see which ones would be easier targets

This seems more like he was intentionally setting up distractions.

That does not make any sense. What might make sense was that he was running tests, like Imans getting on airplanes and chanting the Koran to see if they would be kick off. He was able to see what the routine is to request specific rooms with views, and if he had shown up, he could have scoped the view, which I heard an earlier report say he did in Vegas previously. That he did not show in Lolapalooza could have been for numerous reasons, including an abort of his 'mission'.

Yep, or running ‘test runs’.

That’s too much weight for a small GA plane. He could have flown a few, but not more than maybe half a dozen and keep a small GA plane within weight and balance. He also would have to have access to a plane to fly illegally since his medical had expired and he no longer owned his own plane.

We probably would have heard by now if he had a terminal illness. If meth can turn regular people into monsters imagine it’s effect on a heavy drinking (other gamblers noted he was a heavy drinker) evil man like this.

Yeah but that was in Chicago...he figured if he shot hundreds of people there nobody would notice.

to fly “legally” yes... but somehow I don’t think the fact his medical was expired would have stopped him from flying over to shoot 50 people.

No one checks your license and medical when you are flying you own plane. Heck, you could fly your whole like without a license or medical as long as you have your own plane.
