“earning at least $5 million in 2015”

I’ve read elsewhere that his “earnings” have the whiff of laundered money. Is it within the realm of possibility that this guy could regularly earn this kind of money from actual gambling?

What this means is he had $5 M in reported winnings. What were his unreported losings that would offset this.

This screams money laundering.

He only played video poker and was heavily comped in his rooms. Statistically, the only game in Vegas an advantage player can beat the casinos is by counting cards in blackjack or by cheating in some way by hacking a slot machine.

If he really made $5 M gambling, he’d have been blacklisted from the casinos.

He was money laundering and using fake 1099’s from casinos is my guess.

NO!

Gun sales. Money laundering. Drug sales. Those are possible/probable. Gambling? No way.

I keep hearing he was an Accountant, as someone who works in the profession, while it is certainly possible to become a multi-millionaire doing it, to get to that level you would have to run, or be a partner in, a pretty large firm and have some big name clients. I can't find one single person in the profession who has ever heard of this guy or what firm he worked for, or who his clients were. I have serious suspicions his "Accounting" work was for a drug cartel or other organized crime activities, that would explain much of how he became so wealthy doing it, with seemingly no clients or paper trail.

No chance. The casinos would not let him in the door.

I find it hard to believe it’s possible to win $5,000,000 playing video poker. I find it harder to believe any casino would not ban someone that “lucky”.

No, the house always wins.

If someone starts winning too much, they throw him/her out.

Playing video poker? Not believable.

It has got to be money laundering unless that $5 million does not include losses or he hit one huge jackpot.
