Trump unveils new strict 70-point immigration enforcement plan
The Washington Times ^ | October 8, 2017 | Stephan Dinan

Determined to finally solve illegal immigration, the White House submitted a 70-point enforcement plan to Congress Sunday proposing the stiffest reforms ever offered by an administration — including a massive rewrite of the law in order to eliminate loopholes illegal immigrants have exploited to gain a foothold in the U.S. The plans, seen by The Washington Times, include President Trump’s calls for a border wall, more deportation agents, a crackdown on sanctuary cities and stricter limits to chain migration — all issues the White House says need to be part of any bill Congress passes to legalize illegal immigrant “Dreamers” currently protected by the Obama-era deportation amnesty known as DACA. But the plans break serious new ground on the legal front, giving federal agents more leeway to deny illegal immigrants at the border, to arrest and hold them when they’re spotted in the interior, and to deport them more speedily. The goal, the White House said, is to ensure major changes to border security, interior enforcement and the legal immigration system.

If it doesn’t eliminate American citizenship for anchor babies it doesn’t go far enough.

Time to get working on the primaries and make it clear that Republicans who don’t play along can just sit at home collecting a paycheck from the American people for the rest of their lives....

Yeah, leave it to the House and Senate to ensure that there’s little pain in being fired.

I am massively relieved. This will never pass and I diodn’t want it to pass. I want illegal aliens escorted to the Mexican border. All ages. Legal? stay. Illegal go. Trump disturbed me flirting with this dreamer crap but that is over. There will be no deal with the democrats because they will never do these 70 points any points. So we can rest easy!!

The American people have waited decades for a president to offer an immigration plan as bold as this.

Anyone - and I do mean anyone - who opposes such common sense measures as these, is an enemy of this country.

That requires an amendment to the Constitution, 2/3 vote in both the House and Seante, and 3/4 of the states. never going to happen for now.

Nothing passes without 60-votes in the Senate. The Rats are united like a solid brick wall, and the Republicans can’t even get to 50 votes with the likes of Collins, Graham, McCain, and the Lady from Alaska.

I can tell u exactly how it will play out.
Even if congress passes border wall funding and enforcement along with
amnesty and Trump signs it.
Amnesty will be granted. Lawsuits will be filed against the border wall
and enforcements. A liberal judge will stop both.
And amnesty would have already been granted.

And America is screwed again.

I would still like to see all illegals
deported, vetted, then on a case by case basis, allowed to sign up for a DACA type
program where the USA controls the influx.
The children of the illegals that are
here at this point need to learn that we
live in a country of laws that need to
be adhered to. Children (term used lightly), are resilient, and will adapt
to new environments.
DACA is not an act approved by Congress and should be ended.

Trump talking about the filibuster is a mistake. Primarying opponents of his program would be a better move.

we have the remove the carrot, the jobs, education and medical benefits, driver licenses and so on. There should be no benefits for illegals except enough emergency medical care to get them home

The corportist “Republicans” in Congress are siding with the progressive Democrats. The GOP is malignant now. It needs to reform or die. It’s that simple.

History shows 90% of incumbents will be reelected to Congress. There is almost no way we can primary enough of them to make a difference. Enough will lie to get elected and then screw us over once safely inside the beltway.

The plan was all spelled out in a Bloomberg article months ago. It was very reasonable and yes, strict...if it hasn’t been changed.

If it doesn’t eliminate green cards for the foreign rich and American slavers, it doesn’t go far enough.

[Little clarification here.]

If it doesn’t eliminate work visas for American slavers and green cards being simply purchased by the foreign rich, it doesn’t go far enough.
