Bannon putting Senate majority at risk in 2018, Republicans warn

Republicans on Capitol Hill fear that Stephen Bannon’s plan to wage primary challenges against incumbent senators will put their majority at risk in 2018.

Senate GOP aides warn that Bannon, Trump’s former chief strategist, is not motivated by a desire to advance President Trump’s agenda, but instead by a quest to remake the GOP in his own, nationalist image.

“If anyone misunderstands what Steve Bannon’s goal is, they have to open their eyes. He doesn’t care if we win or lose the Senate. He doesn’t care about the consequences for the president,” said one Senate Republican aide.

“Mr. Bannon, it seems clear, does not care about Republicans maintaining their majority in either chamber. He’s putting his former boss’s agenda on the line in his quest of take over and destroy the Republican Party,” the source added.

Bannon did not respond to an email summarizing the criticism of Senate GOP aides.

The former White House adviser this week said he is working to field primary challengers against incumbents such as Sens. Roger Wicker (R-Miss.), Deb Fischer DEBRA (DEB) STROBEL FISCHER (R-Neb.), Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) and John Barrasso (R-Wyo.). None are considered at risk of losing their reelection races.

Putting a majority that does absolutely nothing at risk is not much of a gamble.

"Start with McCain."

I would agree, but how do I explain my Senator, Corker? He seems to be trying hard to outdo McCain without benefit of the brain tumor.

Just observe the party platform. Observe who in public office seems not to recognize the platform or the Constitution, and you will discover you aren’t the RINO. In the process you also discover who really is and they have taken over the party, but not the platform. Unfortunately if they are kicked out of the party, there may just be enough of them to become a swing vote coalition, if they aren’t already.

Republican voters don’t have a say in Arizona. In Arizona independents can vote in the Republican primaries. They are the biggest voting block at 36%. So, if Democrats want to vote in Republican primaries they say, I’m independent.

McCain loses by a small to medium margin the conservative and republican vote, but gets all the independent Democrats (since they know they are going to lose in the general). This way they get their RINO.

Of what value is a majority if it refuses to serve the interests of those who elected it? It would be better to allow the democrats control the Congress and pit them against the president. That might be a fair fight. The third, Bannon, option is to throw the anti-Trumpers out of office by replacing them with true patriots committed to MAGA. THAT is going to happen. McConnel, Ryan, and their flunkies cannot outlast the Donald.

GOP is worthless. It needs a purge. I live by its core principles but I have no faith or loyalty to those in power.

Eff those people. Its coming up on 9 months since they have been there and some of those jerks have not done a darn thing. Not an effing thing. Two primary things they need to do is get rid of ACA and tax cuts.

“said one Senate Republican aide” = uni-party stooge, who works for both democrats and republicans. A flunky who carries out the commands of the criminal, fascist deep state.

Do you doubt the essential message of the article, or just the motives of the author?

The repubs are traitors to their electorate and chronic liars. They hate/despise/condescend-to their electorate. They hate President Trump and his agenda. Who cares if ALL of them lose. Hopefully, many will be primaried.

Please, and Trump at the top of the ticket meant down ticket folks were going to lose in 2016!

Stop the chicken little nonsense! The only reason you are facing these primary challenges is because you are refusing to do the job you were elected to do! You continue to represent the globalists and the uniparty elites over the good of this nation and her people... and as such you will be facing the consequences!

As far as I can tell we don’t have control of the Senate anyway, because anything remotely good that gets past the house you make sure McCain, Collins and/or Murkowski kill... so Time to send folks like that packing.

To these Senior GOP Weasels:

“At this point, what possible difference could it make?!!”

What would be different than right now if you lost your majority?

You have been in charge of Congress since Jan. 2015, and we have gotten bupkus.

If you would just follow Trump’s lead you would make the Democrats into a permanent minority party.

But you go ahead and just keep listening to Karl Rove, K Street and the Bushes ‘cause you are so freakin’ smart.

And you will go into history just like the Whigs.

Morons.
