If he REALLY wanted to be 'racially insensitive', he might have brought these:

They are now called 'Black Licorice Babies'. When I was a kid growing up in Canada, we called this candy 'Nigger Babies'. I never liked the candy not because of the name (to which I was indifferent), but because I do not like the taste of black licorice.

Granny used to run a fruit stand and sold other stuff as well. One of the candies she sold was a bonbon type candy.

They were (unofficially) called “ni^^er t^ts”

Now that is “racially insensitive”.

(but they were gggggooooooooood!!!)
