***I wonder if the civilian version of the Trophy system can help me hit more geese.***
Only if they are pooping on your position.
Tell me the time, date & location and I'll be there with you - sounds like it gonna be fun.
Other articles have noted that the Trophy can be switched off on one side or the other to avoid this problem. But then it leaves the tank vulnerable.
Maybe time for new tactics?
But from a tech starting point it now defends modern tanks against the latest anti-tank RPG's, thus this is point one in the game.
As for accidentally wiping out your friendlies just outside the tank, maybe that's something that the Battle Management Computers and refine and with better training among the troops.
Maybe they can implement a warning siren just as the countermeasure is being launched so that the grunts nearby can hug the dirt so as to avoid being caught in the blast? But then again since the computer reacts within milliseconds of an incoming projectile then the siren is moot.
FTA: The U.S. and Israeli militaries have always maintained close ties despite malevolent efforts by the Obama administration to sour relations.
Malevolent is the key word.
New tactics? New something.
Shades of Hammer’s Slammers’
Scenario 1, RPG is fired and a kill shot is taken by the tank and then a great big kaboom happens when the HE inside the tank explodes killing everyone in a short radius of the tank. Grunt is still smoothie.
Scenario 2, RPG is fired and the Trophy kills it and the tank remains intact and only the Grunt in close proximity to the RPG is killed by either the Trophy or the exploding RPG.
Either scenario sucks for the Grunt, but at least the tank is still in action, along with its crew and they are able to return fire.
If you'd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.
