I have to think that California has the lowest amount of Republican percentage wise then any other state. I mean we can’t even get on the ballot for Senator anymore....that is crazy.

But why is that?

“Open primaries” was on the ballot in the state. The Republican party didn’t even whimper in objection.

The party has nobody to blame but itself for this.

I’ll be honest, I don’t think most folks realized this would mean that two Democrats would run opposed to each other in the general election either, rather than the traditional D vs R.

I realized Dems would be able to help select the R candidate, but I didn’t realize there would a combining of the candidates, and the top two could be from the same party.

I voted against it because I didn’t want Dems helping us select our candidate. I didn’t realize they would be blocking our candidates in total, so there wouldn’t be one on the general election ballot.

Republican leadership? Crickets.

Nobody made this clear to my knowledge. I sure missed it.
