Sen. John McCain warned against the US turning toward 'half-baked, spurious nationalism' and jabbed at unnamed pushers of isolationist politics while at an event honoring the war hero's contributions.
The six-term Republican senator from Arizona made the remarks at his National Constitution Center Liberty Medal ceremony in Philadelphia after receiving the award for a lifetime of service and sacrifice to the country.
In addition to recalling his more than two decades of Navy service and his imprisonment in a Vietnam prisoner of war camp, McCain took a moment to go a step further than the night's other speakers, who lamented what many described as a fractured political climate.

Poor guy. I agree with him regarding isolationism (albeit not in a globalist manner), but what is the natural manure of nations but . . . NATIONALISM. Without some degree of nationalism, we would be just a random cluster of states. Conditions would be similar to the condition of the old Confederation prior to the Constitution’s ratification.
I can imagine McCain shedding tears over our “half-baked” nationalism. Pretty funny, actually. We had nationalism even during the time of 0bamao, which back then probably included some of his supporters, looking forward to the “fundamentally transformed” America, as it were.
See, this kind of thinking, especially from a supposed Republican like McCain, is pathetic. The only thing good Democrats have done lately is to rediscover some measure of state sovereignty and localism in the time of Trump, but sadly, only because it’s convenient for them.
The only thing good Democrats = the only GOOD THING Democrats

When this SWAMP denizen dies Trump should remain quiet and let some underling attend any services scheduled. His only comment no matter the question: “May he rest in peace. According to my 1970 (pre-political correct) dictionary...
Patriotism is a love and a loyal support of one’s country.
Nationalism has several definitions including:
(1) devotion to the interests of one’s nation; (2) extreme patriotism, chauvinism and (3) a form of socialism that advocates government ownership and control of all industries....
The use of the word “nationalism” to smear traditional patriotic Americans is yet another example of leftist intentional mis-use of a word’s meaning to advance their tyranny and thirst for power.
