Emotional John McCain slams 'half-baked, spurious nationalism' sweeping America in speech aimed at Trump as Joe Biden presents him with lifetime of service award

Sen. John McCain made remarks at his National Constitution Center Liberty Medal ceremony in Philadelphia Monday night

He took a moment to go a step further than the night's other speakers, who lamented what many described as a fractured political climate

He warned against the US turning toward 'half-baked, spurious nationalism'

He said: 'We live in a land made of ideals, not blood and soil.'

Sen. John McCain warned against the US turning toward 'half-baked, spurious nationalism' and jabbed at unnamed pushers of isolationist politics while at an event honoring the war hero's contributions.

The six-term Republican senator from Arizona made the remarks at his National Constitution Center Liberty Medal ceremony in Philadelphia after receiving the award for a lifetime of service and sacrifice to the country.

In addition to recalling his more than two decades of Navy service and his imprisonment in a Vietnam prisoner of war camp, McCain took a moment to go a step further than the night's other speakers, who lamented what many described as a fractured political climate.

Could Sen. John McCain himself be turning toward 'half-baked, spurious nationalism?' Or could it be the NFL? ...at least the half-baked spurious portion.

IMO questions remain about his military service and cooperation with the Communists while in captivity. Questions remain about his repeated failures to keep promises to his constituents to get rid of Obamacare.

Questions remain about his fitness for his Senatorial duties given his state of health.

Questions remain about his loyalty to the Republican Party.

Is he so driven by hate for the POTUS that he cares not what would be best for the people of this country and his constituents in Arizona?

I truly believe he is “getting back at Trump” and won’t vote for a single bill coming out of the Senate.

How he survived the Keating Five scandal is beyond me.
