The six-term Republican senator from Arizona made the remarks at his National Constitution Center Liberty Medal ceremony in Philadelphia after receiving the award for a lifetime of service and sacrifice to the country.
In addition to recalling his more than two decades of Navy service and his imprisonment in a Vietnam prisoner of war camp, McCain took a moment to go a step further than the night's other speakers, who lamented what many described as a fractured political climate.

Could Sen. John McCain himself be turning toward 'half-baked, spurious nationalism?' Or could it be the NFL? ...at least the half-baked spurious portion.
IMO questions remain about his military service and cooperation with the Communists while in captivity. Questions remain about his repeated failures to keep promises to his constituents to get rid of Obamacare.
Questions remain about his fitness for his Senatorial duties given his state of health.
Questions remain about his loyalty to the Republican Party.
Is he so driven by hate for the POTUS that he cares not what would be best for the people of this country and his constituents in Arizona?
Yes, he’s been warned by POTUS.

I truly believe he is “getting back at Trump” and won’t vote for a single bill coming out of the Senate.
