Not to be an ass, but what do they need a million bucks for? Between his GI Bill and his DEA money, added into what ever scholarships they get from SPWF, they should go to school for free. This sounds like the family is looking to “cash in” on his death.
Not sure if it’s still the same, but the Servicemen’s Group Life Insurance (SGLI)and the death gratuity used to total $500,000. Assuming he took out the SGLI policy. That said, another million would be very helpful to raise 3 kids.
The kids will get free tuition and fees for undergraduate school if they maintain Florida residence. You would think the congresswoman would be able to inform her constituent of the available benefits.
