The government has said the term “pregnant woman” should not be used in a UN treaty because it “excludes” transgender people.

It took me several seconds of deep meditation to unravel the "logic" of this one. I always get tripped up on the transgender lingo.
The thing here is that a "transgender man" in the language of non-brain-damaged people means a confused woman. When she gets knocked up (don't ask me how) they can't bring themselves to say "she's pregnant" because "he" is a man, ergo the dilemma.

Feminists reacted with outrage to what they said was the latest example of “making women unmentionable” in the name of transgender equality.

This is where it begins to get fun. By eliminating the noun "woman" the government is now offending cis-gender female feminists (you're on your own-try to keep up) who by protesting are de-legitimizing the transgender crowd.
Oh, they'll settle their argument by the weekend but they've already revealed the vacuity of their ideology.

Well, if it really is a man, then why go through the trouble of trying to spare [him] from the death penalty.

OTOH this gives a motivation for a man sentenced to death to self-identify as being pregnant woman.

OTOH by using the term “pregnant people” a woman that went through so much trouble and effort to be identified as a man will actually have to deny being a man.

Dang. This is getting confusing.

By a transgender “woman” of course. One with the “beans and Frank” still attached.

Now my head hurts.
I’m going back to bed to dream of saner days when the Soviet Union turning us into glow In the dark rubble was all we worried about.

By saying gender was irrelevant, they opened the door to transgenders saying gender was a social construct to be changed on how one feels.
Ironically, transgenders also push the most sexist notions available - whether acting out the worst gender stereotypes or defining “real” by how well one acts out said stereotypes.
