Rod Rosenstein the guy in charge investigated (and helped hide) the Uranium One deal seven years ago, not "10 minutes" ago.

Rosenstein was also one of 50+ U.S. Attorneys who submitted their resignations earlier this year at the direction of AG Jeff Sessions. President Trump refused to accept his resignation.
