Been doing that for years and you would not believe the flak I’ve taken for it.
*THERE’S NOTHING WRONG WITH DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!* everyone screeches.
There’s plenty wrong with it. Maybe not the stuff from when I was a kid and there were actual morals and values in the organization. But after the original Mickey Mouse Club, in the black and white TV days, it went downhill from there. Quickly........
Actually, The Little Mermaid and The Lion King did promote some dang good Christian messages, not to mention actually showcased the worst sides of liberalism in the form of Ursula and Scar, heck, even managed to promote family values as well, so I wouldn’t write off Disney entirely after Walt’s death. Not to mention Kim Possible is one of the few Disney Channel shows that actually does promote the traditional family unit and ESPECIALLY depicts the father in a very positive light and NOT make him out to be a buffoon, a jerk, childish, an idiot, or anything like that.
But yeah, other than those bits, I actually agree with you. Since 1991 when Beauty and the Beast came out, we’ve been getting a lot more leftward push by Disney (and I personally blame Jeffrey Katzenberg for that. As bad as Michael Eisner was, at least he has shown moments before then of actually caring for trying to do a good Disney film without political views, or having media push crap).
