Texans Players May Remove Team Logo From Helmets In Protest

Texans players met late Saturday to discuss how to protest as a team against Houston’s owner Bob McNair over his controversial “inmates running the prison” comment.

“The players could decide to all kneel together, and also discussed peeling the Texans decal off of their helmets or raising their fists,” according to ESPN.

Whatever their demonstration winds up being, it won’t be revealed before the game against the Seahawks.

McNair apologized for his words multiple time this weekend, saying: “I am truly sorry to the players for how this has impacted them and the perception that it has created of me, which could not be further from the truth.”

At this point, I’m not sure who are the bigger idiots: the Player or the groveling Owners.

Agree. What a way to kill an investment of time and money. What’s the end game (pun intended) for these idiotic owners?

All people in Houston are thinking about today is the matchup between Kershaw and Keuchel.

This protest isn't about the flag stuff.

Taking the stickers off their helmets is to protest the owner calling them "inmates".

C'mon, get with the program!

Personally, I couldn't care less what the whole dam league does or doesn't do.

No more for me.

Maybe the could wear orange jumpsuits as their uniforms. Or striped uniforms with shackles around their ankles. That might be entertaining. It might be more entertaining to turn real prisoners into gladiators. Ugh

I agree. The real problems go deeper and the anthem shenanigans just bring them out on the field, in front of the fans. Up until a couple years ago, fans were willing to overlook bad behavior off the field as long as that’s where it stayed.

Players might figure it out and everything can return to the status quo before the anthem protests. But that won’t change what’s wrong with the NFL.

[Sounds like a good time to sell the prisoners!]

Set them free to do another job.

Right now the players have put the owners into a PR vice where thy cannot win and have to grovel weekly. If you ever get a chance, read about the Stanford Prison Experiment. Psychologists took a group of students and assigned some as guards and the others as inmates. Then putting t them all into a fake prison to see him hat would happen. Within a couple of days the guards became drunk with power and fed on it. Humiliating the inmates became satisfying to them. They became sadistic, so much so that they had to end the experiment. These were regular students, classmates of the inmates, randomly selected. Power over others can be corrupting without structure.

Predictably the Players now beginning to overreach on their power over the owners. Owners are stuck but they write the contracts and the off-season is when they will have their revenge. Stupid players, the owners will beat you and take back the smoking ruins of their empire.

Fine by me. Do whatever they want. They’re felons. Ex and/or future inmates. I won’t be watching.

Did Vegas factor in the Texans’ lack of interest in the Seahawks?

Isn’t the NFL front office really strict about uniforms and deviations from the team uniform? I’m thinking of players fined for writing things on their cleats, etc.

Would love to see the whole team fined.

The “H” stands for Huntsville, not Houston.

I don’t know how the play is going this year, since I have better things to do, even on rainy Sundays. But from what I’m hearing, there are a lot of very bad injuries. Besides that, black raciest thugs seem to be spending a lot of time planning for the best way to offend fans. Is this lack of concentration on game prep affecting their play?

This will only embolden the players to do even more outrageous stuff. Expect a player raping or beating the cr@p out of his gf/wife and watch the players and their union to ignore it and even protest if the league or law enforcement step in.

Just watch.
