I’ve never been asked for my DD-214 when purchasing a gun.

And how would they know if I even had one?

You have been asked ABOUT your DD-214 EVERY time you buy a gun. Question #11 G.

Among the different national databases the FBI uses for checks containing information concerning your discharge, if you were, and if it was for worse than dishonorable conditions it would have been different. They don’t need to ask you, they have it. And if it would have had a bad conduct discharge on the form he would have been denied. And like I mentioned, there are codes on all the different discharges and dismissals that do detail the reason for release.

So the problem isn’t that the Air Force didn’t do their job, the FBI didn’t do theirs.
