The fears escalated for Harpreet Singh Kohli under the glow of a TV screen last year, when his daughter broke down at the sight of the words strung across the screen: “TRUMP WINS 2016 ELECTION.”

Indians——I own a condo in an apartment complex-——all 2 bedroom apartments.

The Indians have 2-3 generations living together.

They ARE good neighbors, very quiet, and they all own their units-——but this was unheard of even a few years ago.

I just don’t get it.

My local Dunkin Donuts girl is from NEPAL,for heaven’s sake.

Most H1-B visa are IT people. The Legal immigrants take away more important and more productive jobs

America is an amazing country. It's the only country on earth where citizens throw each other under the bus like it is nothing.

Loose your job chum to a cheap import? Eh, who cares? It's not me.

The American father who your dad took his job has a different opinion

Yes. Yes, America is the great "melting pot," but we don't have to take everyone in.

Sorry, anchor baby...we're sick and tired of it. We're broke, in tons of debt and deficit spending...a lot is due to taking care of people from other countries who need schooling, health care, ad infinitum.

We have an aging infrastructure to repair; a population getting older with health care needs, etc. Lots more I could think of if I put my mind to it.

Excellent point. Hope the President or some of his staffers see this.

Although President Trump is a pretty intelligent man; he may be working on this as we speak.

btw, so tired of calling customer service for my computer and getting someone, obviously from India, who I cannot understand.

Something is up.

Indeed. Shortly after I received a call from company that had been sitting on my resume for two years, I read a series of articles that brought it all together.

The gist was that the Trump Administration was pushing back on H-1B Applications effectively with a simple question, "If this role is so specialized that it requires foreign talent, why are you posting it with an entry-level pay grade?"

I think companies are starting to realize that if they have to pay market wages, they may as well get solid talent.

Yet, for the first time in years, I am actually starting to receive calls for interviews again.

Congrats, beancounter13!!! Best of luck on the job search!

All the best, Julie (originally from Chicago, now living near Ottawa but hoping to move back home)

I read a series of articles that brought it all together.

Can you post a link? I'd be interested for sure.

Too bad my prime earning years were in the era of Globalisms heyday. I’d say I am short about a quarter to a half in lost wages over the decades.

No,that’s NOT what I posted.

I posted that I own a unit-—and in another sentence I said that they own their units.

You’d better get an eye check up.:-)

There are 3 times as many American born whites on welfare as African-Americans. The opioid crisis is hitting white America bigly. WA & CO is full of whites stoned on legal hashish.

The drug problem is huge in the US. I lived in CO for ten years, and I have to say, I would almost be scared to drive on the streets there today. Legalizing drugs was incredibly stupid.

I think it is almost an existential problem that we may never understand while we are alive; historians will probably figure it out.

Still, at least we are all aware ... bigly ;) ... that there is a serious problem.

We are drowning in Indians here-—Eastern MA.

I contract for a very big bank in Boston. They celebrate Indian holidays more than American ones. I'm the only American on my project.

I had originally found this article while reading another article specifically targeting the DACA issue.

As a recruiter, half of the candidates who respond to jobs I advertise are F1b visa holders. Very frustrating.
