ABC News: Firearm Confiscation Orders Part of Solution to Mass Public Attacks
Breitbart ^ | 11 Nov 2017 | AWR HAWKINS

Posted on 11/11/2017 4:40:49 PM PST by Mr. Mojo

Senate Democrats pushed nine different gun controls during the past six weeks, and ABC News has now emerged with a tenth gun law which they suggest may be the ringer.

That law would legalize firearm confiscation orders like those in Washington state. Such orders allow a judge to issue an ex parte order for the confiscation of an American’s firearms. This means the order can be issued without the firearm owner even being present for the process. His or her first knowledge of the order would come when police knocked on their door to sweep the house for firearms.

According to ABC News, the orders are supported by Sandy Hook Promise, the gun control group to which Tim McGraw donated concert proceeds in July 2015. The firearm confiscation orders are also supported by Michael Bloomberg-funded Everytown for Gun Safety.

In 1775 a general quartering his troops in Boston to enforce a punitive blockade ordered a gun confiscation from the town of Concord. The world heard about that.

Hey Laz, I googled some neat stuff with “gun noncompliance”.

Quite a few sites were liberal and very angry & frustrated that Australian-style turn-in/confiscations just weren’t going to happen here short of touching off civil war.

Just over a year ago I was scared, truly scared that Hillary would steal the election and send out BATFE’s flying monkeys to bang on doors at 5:00 a.m. Then I did some research through the miracle of the internet. This is America; the sheer raw centralized power backed by legions of Federal enforcers to carry out confiscation just isn’t there.

Obama executive order? Whoop-ti-doo, Mr. Preezy.

Repeal the 2nd Amendment? Takes passing another amendment.

States passing despotic gun control? Well, that’s happening but the noncompliance rate is huge & states’ attorneys general are reluctant to order sheriffs to start rounding up guns. The Katrina fascism of 2005 has proved an enduring lesson to many states.

Not much recourse left for the gungrabbers except Fr. Pfleger-style invasions of gun shows or liberals ostracizing their gun owning neighbors.

I’ve been watching this cr@p go down since 1963; it’s a good time to be a gun owner in America and the Aussies can go eat their hearts out!

Do you ever have parades like the ones I described in Colorado?

There are many options...

I am sitting at home waiting for them to come and take my guns.
The guns I want them to take.

Tomorrow is only a day away!

Indeed. It would take turning the US military against US citizens.... even IF the US military would obey such an unlawful order.

And that would make Afghanistan look like an 11-year-old's birthday party.

Because, you see, Tom, Dick, Harry, and Ron all have different responses.

Tom will be easy.

Dick has his firearms hidden very well.

Harry has a bunker.

But RON, now RON, he’s different. He will not wait for the battle to come to him. *HE* will choose the terms of HIS engagement with those who would confiscate.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but Colorado requires one to purchase a permit to carry a concealed firearm, right?

My state recognizes permits from every single other state, but not one state recognizes my rights not to have a permit.

We don’t need parades to showcase our rights. The default is ‘Everybody’s armed all the time’.

"...conduct a no-knock raid at 3:00 am..."

Concur with your real-world post.
Most of us have families we love. Good friends. Solid well-paying jobs with big responsibilities.
Nice homes.

Who effortlessly transitions from all that...to shooting people out on the front yard?
It won’t be the flick of a lightswitch. It will be a pot of water that s-l-o-w-l-y starts getting warmer…purely to isolate us over time.
Media will conspire to paint decent patriots as complete nutjobs...so kiss your longtime job goodbye, too.

Doesn’t this confiscation order pretty obviously violate not only the Second Amendment but also the Fourth and Fifth Amendments? Could a judge issue a similar kind of order to end free speech, free assembly and your choice of religion? This is the stuff of totalitarian regimes.

Perhaps You will realize when your Good neighbor disappeared in last night’s raid
That a certain family member was the COP that dragged him off...
Perhaps then you will see it’s time to
Stand and fight!

Or take a Knee.

When the cops become fascists and come for you or your guns

Which will never happen because most local and state police are patriots and will fight back against any federal overreach or federal agents knocking on people's doors.

And you forget about the armed neighbors...the retired military veterans in the community.

Outright confiscation just isn't going to happen, which is why the Left is eliminating guns through attrition, through the ballot box, and through demographics.

Abigail Adams said it pretty well: ‘I feel a pleasure in being able to sacrifice my selfish passions to the general good, and in imitating the example which has taught me to consider myself and family, but as the small dust of the balance when compaired with the great community.’

Isn't that a violation of due process?

Skypilot, what you say about the no-knock raid at oh-dark-thirty by a bunch of armor clad cops is a shortly correct. However, you are forgetting a couple of things. First, many people will have some warning of this, particularly after first set of raids - there are still some people in government who are decent and patriotic Americans, who will not aid and abet this kind of action (except in the most extreme cases), and they will find a way to warn folks. Second, once those first raids occur, more people who may be targeted by them will be ready for them in several different ways. Either they will not be there, or their guns will not be there, or just the guns that they have on paper will be there, and they will hand those over with a smile. Several days or a couple of weeks later, they will then go and retrieve their unpapered firearms.

Then of course, you will have people who will decide after a series of raids on others that we have a tyrannical government, and they will take the battle to those people who have ordered such raids, or who support them. At that point most everyone in the press and media is a target, along with the judges and the families of the police officers involved. I really don’t think that the gun grabbers believe that it will come to that, but people will simply not give up their liberties without a fight, not when it is so nakedly done.

Be careful what you wish for, gun-grabbing would-be tyrants, you may get it.

I would urge every single gun owner to have at least one weapon that is not on paper, and that is also not in their home. The more people who do this, the less likely that a confiscation like this will even be tried. TPTB may not know specifics, but they will get the general sense that something like this is going on when several million people do it.

I might consider not opposing these confiscation laws.....

As long as every Politician that votes for it, every media person advocating it and every lefty ‘twitter activist’ cheering for it be required to be the first one through the door on the confiscation raids until the last gun is out of the last Constitution supporting person’s possession.
