Maybe. I remember when I was a child we didn't have phones in our bedrooms but we did have a hall phone with a long cord. I could bring the phone into my bedroom and close the door.
Someone would need to ask the mother if it was possible for her daughter to have done something like that or not. If not then the daughter's whole story falls apart.

A picture of this exploited ‘14’yo and the circumstances of the custody hearing would be very illuminative. I’m reminded of that mother exploiting her daughter in The Godfather, a scene that wound up on the cutting floor.

Jurors are told if a witness lies about one thing then they are lying about everything. If Corfman is lying about a phone in her room then you can bet the rest is a big lie.
Good point. Back in the day everyone I knew had one phone in the kitchen. If they had two phones the other one was usually in the parent’s bedroom.
