My wife cut off contact with her mother for a decade until she passed away and has never even wanted to see her mother's grave after another decade. Guess what? My wife has never even paid any attention to Stefan Molyneux or any other person you might want to label.
Furthermore, the fact that Steven Hassan was a dedicated member of a cult does not make him a reliable source for identifying cults and other false gurus. It indicates that Steven Hassan is a weak brained idiot that allowed himself to be suckered into a Svengali's magnetism.
The proof of his idiocy is that he didn't warn our country about the Cult of Barack Obama.
I use it for facts like the date a state joined the union or the real name of Blackbeard but anything else must be judged with reason and common sense.

Aside from the fact that Hassan is guilty of EXACTLY what he accuses Molyneux of, that is pontificating with little to no supporting evidence though one can easily google Molyneux’s “cites this and cites that” references; the same can not be said for Hassan’s assertions.
Indeed, Hassan seems to confuse “leaves wiggling on the trees” as the CAUSE of wind the same way he “explains” Molyneux’s advocacy for removing toxic personalities from one’s life. That those toxic people happen to be family members is completely incidental.
But you’d know that if you listened to HIM instead of what someone on the interwebz SAYS about him.
All my life I have railed against divorce, well at least since I understood what it was. Molyneux is very good at cutting through the excuses people use to justify maintaining “relationships” with people, even family members, who are, as I said, monsters.
Do you think those same monsters are going to celebrate the guy who gets their victims to recognize them, and escape?
