Jeff Sessions: 'Not enough evidence' for special counsel to investigate Hillary Clinton
Guardian (UK) ^

Posted on 11/14/2017 10:10:29 AM PST by TigerClaws

Jeff Sessions on Tuesday said there was “not enough evidence” to appoint a special counsel to investigate Hillary Clinton, a day after reports surfaced that the attorney general had authorized senior prosecutors at the Department of Justice to evaluate an inquiry into the Clinton Foundation.

Testifying before the House judiciary committee, Sessions also appeared to push back on Donald Trump’s repeated insistence that the FBI should focus on investigating Clinton as opposed to potential collusion between his own presidential campaign and Russia.

Agreed. I think Trump has now understood how far deep the swamp is, or at least I hope so.

I think the honorable Jeff Sessions is enjoying his good health, and that of his family, and would simply like to keep it that way. Simple as that, and who could blame him?

People who mess with the Clintons tend to experience a precipitous decline in health and well-being.

The title of this article is clickbait and false. If you click on the link you will see that the Guardian replaced the article now. Sessions said the DOJ needed to evaluate whether there was enough evidence. He did NOT say that there was “not enough evidence.” I think they will determine that there is enough evidence. If I am wrong about that, we will have a problem.

I worked for lawyers 26 years but thanks for your concern.

Maybe you would like to enlighten me about Gowdy’s accomplishments besides hearings and BS.

Hannity with a 2017 version of the Beck chalkboard tonight.

Substitute Tides Foundation for Hillary at the center of six ongoing scandals.

Pretty damn impressive.

True, but he’s Attorney General and I want Clinton AND her cronies prosecuted. Its not just Hillary Clinton, she is a large potato yes, but there are plenty more that need to face the music, Eric Holder, Obama, Loretta Lynch, James Comey..Clinton is just one of many that need to be in a prison jumpsuit

I am 99.9999% sure that the DoJ is working on Clinton's (and of course that involves others') crimes as we speak.

Sessions is very, very cagey in his public statements.

And this, retweeted on LS's twitter page (well worth following, especially now that he doesn't post on FR anymore due to freaking aholes btw):

I was told several days ago by a retired but still well connected former DOJ'er that there is an active criminal investigation into the Clinton Foundation and soon U1 being managed by several DOJ bureau chiefs, making it impervious to any one person shutting it down. Solid source

I watched that entire exchange. I thought he won over Rep. Jordan at the end the same way he did me:

I'm still looking for a full transcript, but as I recall:
The issue was whether to appoint a new special counsel. AG Sessions discussed the criteria required to do that, and IIRC, whether or not to recuse. My takeaway was that the criteria for a special counsel would apply if the DOJ was incapable of doing its job. Near the end, AG Sessions made a point that we have a new, capable, and full of integrity Director of the FBI. I thought I saw the light bulb go on in Rep. Jordan's eyes.

Yes, that is what I’m thinking too. I also find it unlikely a retired Marine Corps officer would easily betray his country and the Constitution.

The fact that so many here think Sessions is a loser/etc shows me that a lot of people are fools. Or trolls.

His sorry performance, at his hearings, today are enough evidence for Trump to fire and replace Sessions.
-
I think his coming out and taking sides against Moore is enough reason to fire him. It’s absolutely unacceptable that the Attorney General of the United States doesn’t seen to believe in the concept of “innocent until proven guilty.”

Who got to Sessions? Well I guess if Hillary committed murder in front of the Justice Department she would walk. Reminds of old gangster pictures from the 1930’s and 1940’s, everyone has been bought off or blackmailed.

If and when the Day of Reckoning comes there won’t be enough Lamp Posts to hang all the Traitors in Washington D.C.!!!!

Hey Jeffrey! Where the hell is the “evidence” that Trump “colluded” with the Russkis? The reason you conduct investigations is to gather the evidence, ***hole! Geez. This isn’t rocket science.
