About six or seven months ago, Sen. Luther Strange's campaign heard that Roy Moore "liked to chase women around the courthouse," according to two Alabama Republican sources.
At the time, Moore faced a three-way Republican primary against Strange and Rep. Mo Brooks. In a tight race, it was clear the rumor could prove politically lethal.
"We did a lot of research. We tried and tried and tried," one source said. "I think if we were able to find the names out, we probably would have passed it along to a reporter to track down ... We just weren't able."

Strategy #2 -- make baseless allegations and just order Moore to leave the race because of unsubstantiated rumors.
Question: Will it work?
I bet they did. Strange is a true corruptocrat swamp dweller, for life. The more I read about this the more I think... Down south moms want their girls to marry above them, especially back then. I am from the Deep South.. it’s called a Sugar Daddy... and it’s real.
The media wouldn’t have helped Strange, they would have spiked it until the general.
Reminds me of the guy who tried to confirm the sun comes up in the West. He FAILED too. Assholes.
Guy on Fox News “Panel” just said we don’t need an offender like this in Congress ... When are accusations taken as Gospel ?!
Moore needs to start sueing, if this is baseless
I'm willing to accept that forty years ago Judge Moore, when a young, single man, probably had a healthy libido and sowed his wild oats a bit too much inside and outside the workplace. (But let's be frank, in the late 1970's what was considered appropriate workplace behavior was quite different than the PC obsessed, sexual harassment world of today.)
Of course the fooling around with 14 year old girls would certainly be a deal breaker (that was certainly as big of a no-no in the 1970's as today). But so far, nobody has produced a shred of evidence (physical evidence, a police report, etc.) and until it happens, it's all just hearsay and innuendo.
I was just reading elsewhere that back in the day Moore was banned from the mall, restaurants, and the YMCA in Gadsden, but nobody mentioned that in 40 yrs...lol. Are people really this gullible?
I told my liberal mother in law that I would like to see the same standards applied as they were to B.J. Clinton’s accusers. That shut her up right quick.
IF the guy is messing around with young women, where are the adult women? I mean if this guy has some sex addiction, there should be many ladies coming forward.
Yep. Fox talking heads (Lou Dobbs is the lone hold out) have all convicted Moore....based on what? Allegations.
That’s a strategy perfected by Clinton Crime Inc.
Pubbies have learned these tactics well....against their OWN party, and NEVER against Dems :(
Back then young men who went to school or joined the army often came home to find a “good girl”. One their mothers had arranged with other mothers to meet Notice he said he hadn’t dated anyone hat their mother had not approved. He was considered a good catch. The “good girls” his age were already married with children.
His wife was in the same class as the last accuser. One should look at activities to see if there are grounds for jealousy involved. Accuser could have made a play but was rebuked and current wife won out.
Some interesting threads by Thomas Wictor sho did a lot of research & reasonable thinking:

There are several more well researched threads on his twitter feed.
It was after the free love 60s, Prince Charles isnt the only dude that wanted a virgin!
It is possible this rumor is from Luther itself and he passed it to media, just to destroy Moore.
I think the answer depends on the extent to which the media will help spread the allegations.
Next question...?
Also remember that though there was some “outrage” about the age of his bride, Elvis didn’t seem to suffer. Different times and standards.
