A football coach from Georgias East Coweta High School who was recently banned from praying with players has revealed that an atheist groups quest to remove him from invocations has actually sparked an incredible reaction from players and students, alike.
Our students have done a great job and our students took it upon themselves to organize a prayer with our students in the stands before the game, John Small told The Christian Post. Instead of it being 100 players praying, it turned into 400 students praying. Thats their right and we are going to support them in that.
The coach went as far as to say that the ban preventing him from leading prayer has really turned into a positive and that the Freedom From Religion Foundation, the atheist group that sparked the entire battle, has actually activated something much more powerful.

“government advancement and endorsement of religion “
That is NOT the standard!
ESTABLISHMENT is prohibited, and praying is NOT “establishment”!
we all know schools everywhere are run by the hard core, Christian hating left.
A true atheist group wouldn’t care. The Freedom From Religion Foundation is an anti-Christian Hate group. The Klan that wants to ban.
That document [School Board Lawyer] proclaims that even student-led prayers cannot be joined by teachers, coaches and other staffers. More specifically, the memo instructs staff not to join hands, bow their heads, take a knee or commit another act that otherwise manifests approval with the students religious exercise, at least where it would be perceived by a reasonable observer to display government endorsement of religion.
Way too far, way too encompassing but written as a CYA to 'immunize' the school system against further action by that execrable FFRF. However I do like very much the personal response of the Coach, John Small;
We are not allowed to be in the middle of it but we have a right to be there with our players. We dont have to flee [the scene], Small told the Post. If my head is bowed, nobody can tell me what I am thinking. I am not leading the prayer. I am there supporting my kids. Whether I am praying or not, nobody can say I am or I aint.
I agree with your view of FFRF, especially with this tidbit of their actions; In March 2011, FFRF, along with the Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science, began The Clergy Project, a confidential on-line community that supports clergy as they leave their faith.
However I don't know of about your first sentence here; "A true atheist group wouldnt care.
Atheism, from my experience, IS A RELIGION by practice and intolerance. They cannot stand anyone who does not share their ATHEISM. Unless a person only practices religion singly and in a darkened room, a devout atheist will be on the attack!
You are confusing atheism with anti-theism.
Maybe so but I know of no GROUPS that are only practicing atheism, by your apparent definition. I think that such is far more of a solitary, personal choice activity. I do have friends who are, by your definition, atheist. I have no problems with them just as I have no problems with non-projecting gays & lesbians (& etc) who do what they do without wanting to shove it down my throat.
My contention is that the desire to form groups of any sort generally tends to become activist and thus become like FFRF or American Atheists under Madalyn Murray O'Hair.
Glory to YHVH Yeshua, creator of all things.
Public schools blatant liberalism was one of the first reasons i looked into Conservatism. If the teachers/admin were for something then i was naturally opposed to it.
Liberalism is The Man now. Its the Authority. And kids dont like The Man nor authority. Possible good times coming.
When these atheists rear their heads wherever their names need to be placed into the public domain and they need to be ostracized and ignored by the local community.
THEY are the ones who chose to insert their belief or lack thereof upon others. THEY are the ones that demand that everyone conform to their religious views and THEY should pay the price.
If they have a local business boycott them into oblivion. Don’t yell and scream at them just do business elsewhere. Don’t yell and scream at them in the street. When they attempt to engage you in conversation tell them you will pray for them and just walk off and leave them standing. They demanded special treatment, special recognition, so give it to them by ignoring them.
You won’t change their mind arguing with them so don’t. They want to be special, let them go their own way and be special in their own minds, they are their own god, but you don’t have to follow or support them in any way whatsoever.
While watching the Auburn-Georgia game last weekend, I was surprised to hear the announcer tell that the Auburn quarterback had led his Offensive teammates in prayer while they were on the sidelines and their Defense was on the field.
I was surprised not so much that the QB & teammates were praying as I was that the announcer even mentioned it.
I was watching via YouTube TV, so I’m not sure which network was doing the broadcast. IIRC, the announcer was a woman.
