The British publicist who helped broker a meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer during the 2016 election wants to meet with special counsel Robert Mueller, according to a new report.
Sources familiar with the matter told NBC News that Rob Goldstone, who is currently living in Thailand, has been communicating with Mueller’s investigative team. Goldstone is expected to travel to the U.S. “in the near future,” according to NBC.
A lawyer for Goldstone told NBC News that “nothing is presently scheduled.”
Goldstone, a former tabloid journalist turned publicist, is the manager for Emin Algarov, an Azerbaijani-Russian entertainment artist and businessman who has boasted of having a close relationship with President Trump. Goldstone exchanged a series of emails with Trump Jr. in 2016 to set up a meeting with a Russian lawyer who was said to have damaging information on Hillary Clinton.
Trump Jr.’s meeting with the lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, was also attended by President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, as well as then-Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and several other Russians. The meeting took place at Trump Tower in June 2016.
In one of the emails to Trump Jr. — under the subject line "Russia — Clinton - private and confidential” — Goldstone said the damaging information on Clinton promised to Trump Jr. was “part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump.”
“If it’s what you say I love it especially later in the summer,” Trump Jr. replied to Goldstone in one email.
Trump Jr. says the meeting ended up being a waste of time and that the lawyer really wanted to talk about Russian adoption rules, not Clinton.
In July, Mueller requested White House staff save all documents and communications related to the meeting. Grand jury subpoenas related to the Trump Tower meeting were reportedly issued in August.

They’ll charge him with state crimes as well. If they go for the full coup, Meuller and the deep state won’t mess around.
More grasping at threads. They already have all Trump Jr.’s emails and phone contacts. This is just getting more embarrassing for the uni-party. The gopE thinks it can claim it was not their doing, but we all know they are behind it. That is why the senate has not, and will not go into recess as long as Trump is president. I’m surprised they have gotten away with this without much fanfare to this point. My understanding is that every single senator has to go along with this for it to happen.

This investigation is the biggest waste of time I’ve ever seen.
Obama and Clinton openly sent their political teams to Britain and Israel to affect elections in those nations.
If we could do that, why couldn’t Russia simply provide information to our political candidates?
If Mueller tries to blow this into something big, Trump should land on his head with both feet!

Not just Trump. They want to tarnish Don Jr too to prevent him from running for office.

It isn’t but it negates the dossier. Moral equivalency defense.
Mueller will indict Don Jr and Jared with a perjury trap. I think Eric is the bright one of the family since he seems to have avoided any of this and seems to be minding the business.
No it doesn’t, because it hasn’t been claimed Don Jr. paid for something. Secondly, it wasn’t for information that was clearly not true. Third, it wasn’t for something morally/sexually/deviant in nature, and thus incredibly explosive.
All we know is that the Russians may have had some information regarding Hillary’s dealings with Russia. That’s clearly fair game and reasoned.
The stuff of golden showers et al, isn’t.

Goldstone might have relevant information about who was pushing him to set up the meeting, when, what they said, etc.
But why this crap about meeting Mueller, involving a long expensive trip to the US, probably paid for by the taxpayers. Would that be dramatic and make him feel important all over? How about he shuffle his arse down to the US embassy in Bangkok, get interviewed by the local FBI rep there, and sign an affidavit? If Mueller thinks calling him is worthwhile, he can call him. Better yet, Goldstone could send his affidavit to WikiLeaks and get it posted fo all to see.
