After more than thirty years in the military, let me just say to any service member, you disobey a military order at your personal peril. Now, you can take that anyway you want to, but it is essentially a presumption of legality. The military could not operate otherwise.
“bullshit, you are wrong wrong wrong, no order is presumptively legal.”
BS to you. All orders are presumptively legal, otherwise every order would have to come with an explanation of the lawful authority for the order.
Subordinate: “You want me to do what? Well, just prove that’s a lawful order!”
Superior: “I don’t need to. You can think about it in Leavenworth, and I’ll find someone else to carry out my
orders.”
