And what if the players wish to display their respect for the flag and country? Still not good enough. My boycott will continue.

I think that the solution is to stop all patriotic displays at sporting events. They have absolutely nothing to do with the defense of our country, or furthering freedom or anything but entertainment.

The main proportion of athletes today are from the disaffected and ungrateful parts of our nation, so deny them the opportunity to further dishonor our emblems.

I've always despised the organizers using uniformed members of our Armed Forces as decoration for those dumb events anyway.

I have learned, over the past year, that I don’t really need to watch football. There are plenty of other things to keep me busy or amused. I will probably never watch NFL games again.

Won't work.

Now the scum know that the league and owners are too weak willed to take disciplinary action.

The kneelers will just find another way to show their hate and disrespect on camera.

The upside is that they will drive even more fans away.

This is like the parents of the screaming, bratty kid in the restaurant, who just sit there, like their sweet, precious baby isn’t irritating the entire restaurant, instead of dealing with the kid by removing him/her and administering some well-deserved discipline.

Hey owners, just because you think the players are your precious babies, doesn’t mean the rest of us have to put up with their disrespectful displays.

They maybe could have gotten away with staying in the locker room if they had started to do that last year, but President Trump has made damn sure everyone knows the issue clearly, and the teams have made damn sure everyone knows whether or not they are patriotic Americans.

The NFL is doomed.

I hope someone can revive it on the other side of this self created debacle.

Any policy change would have to be discussed after the season.

They have thrown this year and the foreseeable future in the trash bin then.

It is hard to find a parallel on how terribly the players, the league, the union, and the owners have handled this issue. It's not a public relations disaster, it is just an out and out disaster.

SHOULD does not cut it. That is like saying Surgeons SHOULD scrub their hands before surgery, but make it optional as a matter of free speech.

I WANT to be an NFL fan. I have been a faithful fan all my life. But now somehow they have made the NFL a racially charged sacred cow that must be bowed down to by the fan. They just don't get that folks are not going to bow down to any kind of sacred cow as a cost of admission to being an NFL fan. If they would have just done football, the good things would have flowed from it like it has for decades. But instead, they had to package something with the NFL to "stand" for something else.

I guess it looks hopeless at this point. This season ticket holder has attended 0 games thus far this year, and will not be buying next year. The NFL has NO idea about the wave fixing to swamp them. What a shame.

What OUGHT to happen at this point is for the players and the players' union to solve the problem. They ought to go meet with Trump or something and just leave the inept league and owners out of the equation. They would earn my respect in that way. Because, without something BIG like that, they too, and not by original intention, are being asked to bow to some kind of sacred cow now. It is NO WIN all the way around.

Players, want to win? Deal with Trump instead of your inept league and owners. Something BIG will happen and you will come to understand what "winning" is.

COMMIE NFL SHIRT

Opportunity Here!

Print tee shirts to wear at football games.

Simply says: “NFL”.

N color black
F color red
L color yellow

The stupid black players will eagerly endorse the black color letter “N”, because they are stupid football players who give smart blacks a bad name.

But smart people will figure out the colors black, red, yellow; are Communist colors.

Print the tee shirt, make money or tell Alex Jones.
Then fans can wear the shirt at NFL games while holding their nose. Alex can have a competition, whoever gets shown on national TV in the commie NFL shirt.

Alex Jones ping.

Good for them.

And I’ll stay at my home, rather than going to the one or two games I would have gone to, and for the rest of the pre-season, season, and post system, NOT be watching the games.

Or buying any NFL products. Or the products of their sponsors.

I do have to say that I’ve discovered a couple of new, tasty beers since I stopped drinking Bud.

I don't get it. there are thousands of players who would kill for a chance in the NFL , but you only have one fan base.

Owners seem to want to destroy the fan base to cater to a few hot head prima donnas

I'm not sure what there is to talk about, here. The players work for the owners, and the NFL's viewership is off somewhere between 15 and 25 percent because of their behavior. If I make my company look bad - if my actions cost it *any* percentage of revenue - then I'm fired. What makes the NFL players any different?

Owners need to tell the players to stand. If they refuse, then they're fired. There's 10's of thousands of other very talented people who would gladly hand over their right arms to play in their place.

That would put an end to the situation, simply and quickly. Players would quickly fall into line. Viewership would recover - it would still be down some, but it would recover most of what's been lost.

The longer this strings out, the worse it will be.

I have a relative that is head coach for a mid-sized college football program. He doesn’t allow players to participate in the national anthem. He will not offer his players the opportunity to make fools of themselves and their school.
I have noticed many other college football teams do the same.
