sources seem to indicate that this was a high altitude launch. If so it could be for a couple things
1. test reentry vehicle protection
2. dependability for high altitude nuke test.
I don’t know why an artillery barrage must kill millions. Don’t they have any place underground to hide? I mean, certainly the first salvo would be very bad but I think people overestimate the casualties.
That’s quite an achievement. I had wondered why Fat Boy didn’t launch anything while Trump was in Asia. I figured it was a cautionary move tha entailed a loss of face for Kim Jong Un. However this may be another instance of raising the stakes. Now he needs at least a couple of “quiet” subs to make this threat real.
