Flynn was the head of DIA, which covertly and overtly, "spies" on our adversaries. He is no different than the head of the CIA or NSA.

I am just trying to understand what your point is and how it relates to the investigation and his guilty plea. It should be noted that there are legal restrictions on what the former heads of these agencies can do after they leave their agencies. It involves travel, contacts with certain countries, etc.

As far as Flynn's loyalty to the US, I have every confidence that he would never do anything to jeopardize this country. Until proven otherwise, I assume he is a patriot who has served his country well.

Since rodguy deals heavily in conspiracies, my guess is he saying that if Leanne was a Trojan horse designed to be charged and proven guilty on some sort of conspiracy with the Russians.

My thoughts as to why he was lying, when talking to the Russians itself isn’t a crime, is that he was concerned about the mainstream media narrative and drumbeat about Russia at the time, and knew it would be leaked if he admitted to it.

FYI there are actually reports out there now that Comey testifies behind closed doors to Congress that the FBI had already decided NOT to charge Flynn. But since that time, Mueller was appointed, and they decided to file the charge.

Guesses are this this was to keep his son from being charged on certain things, or higher charges against Flynn for his testimony against Trump or his family, but exactly what those other charges may have been is still unknown, or if this is going to be it.

I guess I was suggesting that those looking into Flynns testimony or comments might be giving him some slack if he was a major league spy and could not go to court anyway. A bit out of my league there I admit.
