Rep. Trent Franks, an Arizona Republican who is among the most conservative members of the House, said he would resign his seat after House officials learned that he had asked two female employees to bear his children as surrogates.
Franks’s announcement came as the House Ethics Committee said it would create a special subcommittee to investigate Franks for conduct “that constitutes sexual harassment and/or retaliation for opposing sexual harassment.”
His resignation, which Franks said is effective Jan. 31, will end the ethics investigation........

His executive assistant was on tonight and said he’s being railroaded. He never asked anyone to sleep with him. He asked two staffers if they would be interested in being a surrogate mother for him and his wife. Through artificial insemmination. It might sound weird but it damn sure ain’t sexual harassment and Paul Ryan needs to have his ass kicked for asking Franks to resign. Franks is probably the most conservative member of Congress and is the biggest advocate for the unborn in Congress. This is Ryan trying to purge conservatives that have stood up to him. I hope and pray that
Franks runs for the senate because he’ll be elected with 90% of the vote.

If, in fact, he asked two female staff members to be a surrogate mother to his children, then he needs to resign immediately resign, if only because he is too stupid to work in government, even among the stupid (and lazy). Any employer asking such a loaded questions deserves a trip to the proverbial wood shed, as well as a trip to the unemployment line.

Seriously? I’ve had 3 very different careers and a bunch of other odd jobs in between. Personal conversations happen all the time. I can’t imagine working in an environment so dry and stiff as what you describe nor would I want to. When we stop being humans, even at work, then the robots might as well take over the planet anyway.

When did Freepers become so gullible? Anyone can see Mr. Franks is being railroaded; even from way outside the beltway. He did nothing wrong so unless you are part of the GOPe swamp or a rabid dem; you really should not be talking like Franks is guilty or creepy of anything.

there must be more then he is admitting to...this is inappropriate but it is not deviant or predatory in nature...I myself would give a pass on it. if it was an isolated incident.
