Actually, what caused me to write that was what Robert E. Lee told his subordinate generals at the end of the war. They suggested that he disperse the army and send them into the hills to act as an insurgent force. He said, no. It’s time to declare that we lost and begin the healing process. (I’m taking huge liberties here, so cut me some slack. I didn’t want to spend thirty minutes looking for the exact quote. But that’s what he meant.)

Had R. E. Lee opted to launch a guerrilla war, he would have destroyed what was left of the South and caused apocalyptic blood-letting on both sides.
Since the Palis aren't willing to accept this approach is wrong, they must be forced to it by putting their own survival on the line.

It has always been my position that retaliation must be so violent that whenever anyone even talks about engaging in terrorism, his own mother will spit in his face.
