They are a good store.
I agree.
Oddly I have found a lot of American Made stuff there.
“So it really doesnt say anything about markup as the stuff is already a loss for distributors.”
So they can write it off and not lose the entire investment.

RIP.
We live in the suburbs of a medium-sized east coast city. There are 3 Dollar Trees on my regular shopping route, and I've visited a dozen others on my extended route. All well stocked; but there are slight differences. Must be the store manager's discretion. One of our local store managers has been there at least a dozen years, and he's around 38 to 45 years old.
I purchased over 700 teddy bears from DT in years back, when they used to be larger than they are now, and dressed them in patriotic colors for the wounded at Walter Reed.
Get all my household cleaning items from them.
Awwww, that is so great!
I love Dollar Tree. I go about 6 times a year and I usually end up spending $50.00 or more.
Bought a bunch a stuff this Monday to make Christmas Baskets for my co-workers.
Every cashier, on every transaction, every day, all day long, at our local Dollar Tree, asks the customer:
And, would you like to donate to our Christmas Presents for the Children of Military Families?
JFTR, I always do.
FReepers may scorn the Dollar Tree, but when one is a widow on Social Security, and NOT getting any other assistance, it is a great place to shop for dried beans, pasta, paper goods, and non-perishables.
That extra Dollar for the Troops is often my last one.
I walkaway from Dollar Tree with a full cart, when across the Parking Lot at Target, I may have been able to purchase one or two items. And more often than not, the Brands are the SAME.
Just Sayin.
I think many who scorn Dollar Tree have never actually been in one...I initially went there for gift wrapping supplies... and I have found excellent product/deals on wrapping paper, tissue paper, gift bags, and party supplies.
I also bought plates (ceramic) and mugs to fill with goodies as gifts.
Since then I have walked thru the store and found some excellent buys on Curad bandaids, trave-sized toiletries, Gosmer milk (non-refigerated), and some Betty Crocker kitchen items.
I have bought several boxes of their emergency candles—28 hours of lighting for a dollar.
Yes, it all comes from China, but no store can boast much made in America now :(
I think you may be talking about Big Lots...
Seems to me Dollar Tree has many of same products all the time...not discarded.
last year, I was behind a person at dollar tree, who bought about 50$ worth of toiletries. I said,”Stocking up?”
“No, I am making Christmas stockings for the troops.”
If everything is from China anyway, pay the LEAST you can for it!
Hence, the Dollar Store is patriotic. :-)
Don’t you mean two for a dollar?

It makes you wonder how the Grocery store can charge $8.00 for a tube of Colgate, and the Dollar Tree $1.00 and they are the same product in the same size package.
Go Figure.
Where is that...? Somewhere here in the states?
Shoot....I make a very good living...and I shop at Dollar General all the time.
LOL
Thanks for the info. So it’s second-hand junk. Good to know.
