Pelosi Says Congress Has ‘a Duty and an Obligation’ to Let DREAMers Stay

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi told the House Rules Committee today that Congress has a “duty” to protect the “DREAMers” by taking action to allow them to stay in the United States.

“Congress has a duty and an obligation to protect these DREAMers—the committee should take this opportunity and take the bipartisan DREAM Act a vote on the floor,” Pelosi said. […]

Pelosi said the vast majority of Americans want the DREAMers to stay and become legal residents of the United States. “By an 84 to 12 margin, Americans believe that Dreamers should be allowed to stay in America and gain legal status, including 77 percent who support a path to citizenship, 81 percent of Independents want citizenship status for Dreamers, 57 percent of Republicans—Republicans—want citizenship for DREAMers,” she said.

“The three Bs—badges (law enforcement), bibles (our faith groups), and the business community—all strongly support the DREAM Act,” said Pelosi.

In addition, Pelosi said not deporting the DREAMers will save America money. “According to an analysis by the conservative CATO Institute, deporting DACA recipients would cost taxpayers $60 billion,” said Pelosi. “The Center for American Progress [said it] would cost our economy a staggering $460 billion over the next decade. CATO was addressing deportation, Center for American Progress was talking about productivity of our economy.” …

Dreamers and DACA are not the same thing. I think DACA recipients should be carefully vetted. If they do not get great grades in school, no DACA. If they have been in jail or trouble of an kind, no DACA. Each must have a citizen sponsor who will be financially responsible. No one entering the US after 2007 will be eligible

A trip to our local Walmart where hardly anyone speaks English might help get her mind right.

That's the way the Walmart is on 5th St Highway in Reading as well.

Congress has a duty to explain:

Why they lie to the American people.

Why they are enriched by millions each (to billions)
by lobbyists, since the result is they lie
and betray their voters.

Why they NEVER obey the Constitution, or the Law,
and NEVER put criminals (eg. IRS head) in jail
after they receive their lobbyist millions, but
just continue ‘on the take’.

The reason they’re different is because one is a temporary solution while the other is permanent.

But...if you’re reading something that refers to the Dreamers, or to recipients of the DACA program, they’re fundamentally referring to the same group of people.

What about their parents and other relatives? They stay too? What about fact they are mostly militant and entitled?

What about the legal Americans who pay the burden?

What about fact some, are as old as 30 and could have started process to stay, but did not?

No Amnesty. These folks have received a great deal from US. They can be very successful in their own countries now.

Amnesty during Reagan Admin was slated to be the last.

Good, as long as she and the rest of the certified moonbats keep the “Dreamers” in their homes and communities and pay for the “Dreamers” sustenance with moonbat money!

One at a time. That is how you do it.

I might be able to compromise if you add proof of financial support to your “solution”. Not a public penny should go to these people. The left wants them, let the left donate funds to foundations that will provide financial support if necessary.

From the child’s perspective, they had no choice.

Now as adults, they are in an uncertain position to potentially to pay a price for lawless people who made this happen: (1) those in our federal government who did not enforce the laws they had sworn to uphold and may in fact have encouraged such lawbreaking; (2) the constitutional expert Obama who created the unconstitutional DACA; (3) the employers who broke the law in hiring their parents; and (4) their parents who broke the law in bringing them here. The children will naturally not blame their own parents. Hence the American concept, necessary for good citizenship, “the rule of law” might be lost on them. Most or none of these 4 types of lawbreakers will be made to pay a price, carry any burden for their lawlessness. So I do retain some sympathy for the children-pawns being used by the lawbreakers.

I ask you, at what age did the child have to be pulled across the border to be defined as DACA eligible and thereby have no experience living in their homeland (where they still retain citizenship)? 2 years old? 16 years old? 17.99 years old?

Also, what do you recommend to be done with their illegal parents?

(1) Deport the parents, DACA kid has option to stay.

(2) Parents get to stay too (a “chain migration”)

(3) BJClinton-Reno-Elian Gonzalez Family Reunification Policy - deport them all so the family unit stays together?

(4) Deport them all, but DACA children may apply before departing for a re-entry visa that they seek a special (”delayed voting” path to citizenship). These will be given special consideration provided there are no felonies, etc.

Unfortunately, many of the lawbreakers who created this situation are going to be the ones to “fix” it. And most likely they will be rewarded for so doing.

How about deportation and permanent prohibition of any future entry of the parents who broght them here illegally? Even if the children are innocent, the parents are guilty.

The Act applies to people as old as 35. The deception that propagandists are constantly trying to convince people of is that this is only for kids.

Sounds like you’ve accepted their lies.

——What about their parents and other relatives? ——

Do they fall under DACCA? If not, goodbye, have fun back in your hell hole of country.

-—fact they are mostly militants and entitled——

That’s an opinion and not based on reality. Yes, some are, but hardly “most”

What additional burdens would Americans have giving DACCA people a visa?

As for the age who would eligible, Congress Can pick reasonable age and work back....
