Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) is still acting like a thorn in President Trump's side - even on Christmas weekend. Speaking to ABC's "This Week," Flake condemned the president's rallies as bastions of resentment.
"When you look at some of the audiences cheering for Republicans, sometimes, you look out there and you say, 'those are the spasms of a dying party,' " Flake said on ABC's "This Week."
"When you look at the lack of diversity, sometimes, and it depends on where you are, obviously, but by and large, we're appealing to older white men and there are just a limited number of them, and anger and resentment are not a governing philosophy," he continued. (The Hill)
The hostility between Flake and Trump started when we learned of Flake's "secret" book, "Conscience of a Conservative: A Rejection of Destructive Politics and a Return to Principle," in which he trashed Trump's agenda. The 45th president had a major hand in "compromising" the Republican Party's morals, the politician/author suggested. After the discovery, Trump mocked the senator at a rally in Phoenix.
Since then, Flake has continued to distance himself from the president, most recently refusing to support Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore in the special election race to replace Jeff Sessions. Moore denied the sexual assault allegations against him heading into Election Day, but the whole scandal encouraged Democrats to head to the polls in droves and elect Doug Jones, the first Democrat to a Senate seat in Alabama for 25 years. Many top Republicans urged Moore to drop out of the race, but Flake was so opposed to Moore's candidacy that he went so far as to donate to Jones's campaign.
Even with Moore's defeat, he will continue to be a "stain" on the GOP, Flake said Sunday.
He was happy to show his followers that he received a "Decency Wins" mug from a fan this weekend for his rebellion against the president. He tweeted those same two words on December 12, the day Moore lost.

Flake is using opposite language in hopes someone believes him. A leftie low info voter most certainly would believe him. Another ahole who doesn’t understand the loyalties of Trump voters.

True, very true. Flake’s campaign in the Washington and NYC mass media has begun. Good way to identify your enemies, but it will make his Senate vote more often Schumer’s vote.

ABSOLUTELY!!! Why should conservatives be HAPPY about the society that’s crumbling around them, due to the Flake and people like him on the left? Among thing like:
1) Loss of our once-great health care system
2) Tin Pot nations now only deciding WHEN to send us into the Stone Age
3) Government supporting perverts forcing their way into our daughters locker rooms
4) Being told we have ‘privilege’, while other, often totally unqualified, people are given priority in well-paying jobs
5) Being told we can’t have air conditioning based on false science
6) Having a media with a PERFECT RECORD when it comes to making ‘mistakes’ about our president - every ‘mistake’ has made him look bad - never the other way.
7) Public schools where in-class sex between the kids is only a few years away
8) Public schools which now INTENTIONALLY use methods that fail our kids, with the intent of bringing the country down to average ‘world levels’ economically.
9) A voting system designed to encourage fraud, and a political party which REFUSES to clean it up.
10) A political party that refuses to be honest with Americans regarding their goal of totally disarming civilians.
You’re DAMN RIGHT Flake - which is why you’ll never even make it to Iowa.
Trump’s priority is American citizens.
The Uniparty’s priority is foreigners.
Of course there’s anger and resentment.

I think you mean 2020, but yes, Flake is a dope. I think it's pretty obvious that he's already decided to jion the Democrat party.

Hey flake, they should be full of anger and resentment after 8 years of the Obama / Clinton crime gang looting the country, destroying our borders, ridiculing our heritage, insulting our warriors, and spreading their hatred by diversity and multicultural bullsnot.
That being said, his brand is as useful as a broccoli to a pack of hungry fly over region wolves. The conservative wolves will turn up a diet of what Flake is selling. They might just eat him for spite.

When he ran for Congress the first time, he pledged to limit himself to 3 terms. He broke that pledge and ran a 4th time.
