Why is the United States Post Office, which is losing many billions of dollars a year, while charging Amazon and others so little to deliver their packages, making Amazon richer and the Post Office dumber and poorer? Should be charging MUCH MORE!
Clever boy.
:)
"...and debtan amount equal to 182 percent of USPSs revenues."
👍
I paid a small fortune to have UPS deliver care packs to my college kids...........USPS not charging enough
It brought to mind one of those "Naked Gun" movies (Naked Gun 33 1/3:The Final Insult) that starts out with Leslie Nielsen's character staking out a train station, and right as the violence is about to begin (and him reading a paper that says "Dyslexia for Cure Found" which caused my buddy and I to break out in laughter before the rest of the theater got it) women pushing baby carriages suddenly begin appearing, and when all three men have their hands full with baby carriages, the bad guy comes in and violence ensues, with more distractions...
Look! It's the President! (coming down one stairway)
It's the Pope! (on other stairs)
It's an Arab terrorist!
And Disgruntled Postal Workers! (waves of Postal Workers shooting guns enter)
I still think those are some of the silliest, stupidest, and funniest movies! (Even with the scumbag OJ Simpson in them)
UPS just started a new service ... they pick up the packages and deliver them to the post office of the deliveree’s address. Then your postman delivers it to the addressee.
UPS still sells their more expensive service where they pick up AND deliver but the new post office option is available for less money.
It sucks big time because the post office does not offer much service at all.
And that is why my posts are a miracle.
You are my target audience, goodman.
:)
I understand the steep increase in gasoline years ago really threw the post office into big debt.
See post # 26.
They have a new level of UPS that is cheaper.
Post offices take time to recover from liberal leadership.
LOL...that is what FR does for me, and I guess, the Internet as a whole.
That, and cat videos.
What is not talked about is that many Post Office employees are veterans, some of whom suffer from untreated PTSD.
The absolute last thing I ever want to see on my door is a damn pickup slip from the USPS.
“Sorry we missed you. Come get your package.”
At least with FedEx or UPS, the pickup process will be quick. With USPS, better bring a lawn chair.
Same here. :)
That, and cat videos.
Where would Western Civilization be without cat videos?
Who clocks out to go to the bathroom?
Some years ago, I worked for Massachusetts Mutual, which then merged with Connecticut Mutual. We joked about it being MASSCONNFUSION. (Frowns from upper management.)
Even more clever.
Amazon’s growth rate is such that existing delivery services literally won’t keep up.
There is, in fact, a FedUp store near here.
“IIRC, Amazon has been looking at going into the delivery biz.”
Amazon and other companies should collectively buy the USPS from the government and turn it into their delivery and warehousing services. There is already a fleet of vehicles, warehousing space and semi competent people who could retrain to deliver packages correctly.
