The Cross River gorilla is considered a subspecies, not a separate species. It is a subspecies of the western gorilla, and is the rarest of the great apes (estimated to be only 250 mature individuals living).

Only six? Last summer I saw a graphic on some nature TV show that claimed that - solely because of global warming - something like 15 plant and animal species become extinct EVERY DAY.

Thanks. It wouldn’t work for me. There may be some elephants as that’s was pictured on the loading, loading, loading, loading page.

I was hoping for liberals in the list.

Yes, but why use two stones when you can kill two issues with one.

They rolled off the keyboard as fast as I could type them in.

I figure that puts me in the top 98 percentile...

Only about 2% off us couldn’t have done it. LOL

The fascist Weather Channel has zero credibility; it can’t even predict whether it will rain or snow tomorrow.

I believe a River Gorilla is less dangerous than a River Horse (Hippopotamus).

And exactly how will mankind's future generations be negatively affected when a subspecies of gorilla is extinct if the other varieties are not?

When comparing the Cross River gorilla to western gorillas, they have noticeably smaller palates, smaller cranial vaults, and shorter skulls. The Cross River gorilla is not known to differ much in terms of body size or limb and bone length from western gorillas.

So will future generations cry out in agony when a gorilla with slightly different skull lengths are no longer able to be photographed by a loner once every few months? I think not.
