I guess it is far better to initiate contact with the Russians and create a phony dossier as a pretext to monitor the Trump campaign and transition teams along with his activities as the sitting President using taxpayer-funded resources of the intel community. What is more dangerous and treasonous, agreeing to meet with Russians offering possible dirt on Hillary or weaponizing the government to go after a political opponent?

It’s not treason to get info from another country. Period. Someone from Haiti gives you documents showing Hillary is a crook. Nothing wrong with it. In terms of any wrongdoing, I don’t believe the Don Jr meeting had any indication the Russians committed a crime.

The Founding Father made the definition of treason very specific. They had the empty of Judge Jeffrys and TH “Bloody Assizes”. Where treason & hanging was handed out like tea and biscuits for any minor offence that could be construed to be against the king.
