Might explain the horrible way Mitt finished the last few months, like someone told him to go home and be quiet. Didn’t McCain follow the same pattern?

Obama was aided by the financial meltdown - McCain was actually leading in some polls at that point (might be another thing to investigate, BTW). But McCain wasn't a good candidate, anyway. Romney slapped Obama around the stage in the first debate, then went timid after that. Maybe he was threatened in some way? Who knows, but now would be an opportunity to find out.
