"President Winfrey" was the talk of the entertainment world after Winfrey accepted the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes. And the "Oprah for president?" possibility was a top story on morning TV. The touchstone of her speech was the #MeToo movement. But her hopeful message -- "A new day is on the horizon" -- could have doubled as a campaign rallying cry. Many liberal-leaning celebrities and viewers certainly heard it that way. And that may have been exactly what Winfrey wanted. As some political strategists have pointed out in the past year, her fame and wealth could make her a formidable Democratic Party candidate. But insiders have their doubts too: Would Americans really choose a TV star as president twice in a row?

I am having a hard time picturing Oprah in handcuffs being carted off to Jail. I never thought she would go so far as to join the organized crime gambit by becoming a politician on that side of the isle.

Well, the previous president forced everybody to buy health insurance whether they wanted to or not. Weight Watchers is a lot cheaper on a monthly basis and maybe more important to maintaining good health. I think it would be a positive move.

Trump was a business man long before becoming a TV star. Oprah was in news media briefly before becoming a talk show host. Big difference.

Sorry, I didn’t hear anything that would indicate she wants to be president (I watched the whole thing last night for purposes of family peace). She just humbly (/s) accepted the worshipful adoration from the glitterati and built her brand further. She could win if she ran, but I’ve never seen anything from Oprah that would indicate she would take the paycut necessary to serving the country, as PDT has done.
Let Oprah spend all the leftist money for 2020.
