If employers want 2 weeks’ notice for employees leaving, they must provide 2 weeks’ notice (or pay) for severance.

She should have been summarily fired the day it was public that she said that. If not before...

That’s what I was wondering. They’ll have to keep some employees to either sell off the inventory, or load it to ship to their warehouse or another store.

[ the Black Eye Pea closings]
Yes, those just disappeared like magic. Same with a lot of Boston Market stores.

If employers want 2 weeks notice for employees leaving, they must provide 2 weeks notice (or pay) for severance. What I want and what I get are two different things. There is no law that says that an employee must give two weeks notice why must a employer provide any different. Is it right to give as much notice as possible, of course. Should it be a law, of course not.

I just ate at Boston Market. They are mostly empty when I go there, even at lunch.

I was just wondering whatever happened to the Black Eye Pea. I used to eat there a lot when I first moved to the DFW area.

100+ stores? No, not so!
https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2018/01/11/sams-club-closing-dozens-stores-reports-say/1024986001/
Sam’s Club, the membership warehouse owned by retail giant Walmart, is shutting down or converting 63 stores, a Walmart official confirmed Thursday.
Of those locations, about 50 will be going out of business for good.
The company would not provide a list of the specific locations that will be closed or the number of employees that would be impacted, but public filings revealed that at least 1,733 workers will be affected.
Furner said that the company would try “to place as many associates as possible in new roles at nearby locations.’’
In the United States alone, Walmart employs 1.4 million people.

I haven’t seen one in awhile - there may be one 25-30 miles from me. I’ll have to look next time I’ve over there - which is not often these days.
I liked the one here in town - Dad and I would eat there several times during the year. Now, it’s an Arby’s.

There were a couple within a short distance from my house that just closed overnight. One thing they did have going for them was their wonderful rolls.

Sams Club is redundant nowadays and membership stores have always been stupid anyway. Yes, Costco is barely getting by.
