This is standard for most retail companies the first few months of the New Year....they condense their operations and this is often based on what stores are least profitable. Thus those stores are not a drag on the rest of the company.

Additionally big block stores are increasingly closing stores as on line purchases and specialty shops have grown popular with the public.
