I would do what I could to take the back roads!
There are several better routes that are no toll.
Slick Eddie Rendell wanted to make I80 toll so his buddies could rip off the state even more.
Unfortunately, the only choices are US 30, which is a great but slow 2 lane highway or I-71 and I-68 with an upshot (forget the number to the end of the turnpike. No cost but adds a couple hours.
