Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., is stepping down from his role on the House Ethics Committee, citing a "challenging workload" as the reason for his departure.
Gowdy informed House Speaker Paul Ryan of his decision in a letter on Jan. 10, the details of which were not made public until Saturday. The South Carolina Republican was tapped to lead the House Oversight Committee last June, after the former chairman, Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, left Congress for a job at Fox News.

How many times have you seen this CRAP in your Facebook newsfeed, etc for the past 8 years. ALL UTTER BULLSHIT. Gowdy is a useless, big-talking assclown and Swamp Thing. His role was to make us THINK the House GOP had a spine and was fighting Obama's criminals, when in fact he and Ryan, McCarthy and Rogers LOVED Obama and let him get away with it ALL. GOOD RIDDANCE, moron. Now please just retire.

No big deal. He’s gotta be glad to dump that tar baby. The house ethics committee can only do one thing for either side of the aisle. Stonewall, obfuscate and delay. Members under investigation often go on for a decade or more in their political positions. And then slow walked to retirement or resignation.
He said that 4 committees and a chairmanship is to much to handle.. He is staying on the important committees!
So what’s the real reason?
Maybe for his last day of serving on the Ethics Committee, he will release the list of predator congressmen who needed tax dollars to pay off their victims.
Trey Gowdy....what a disappointment, all talk no action.

Trey Gowdy certainly has been a disappointment. Yes, he did absolutely nothing, other than to have you tube videos making him look like a man of the people.
He should go back to the TV series and convict obvious killers, get paid and go home.
