Honestly, IF the tale told in the story is true (brought here at age 9, no criminal record, not on welfare etc) then I’d probably support making an exception for him and people like him.
I know that is probably not a popular opinion here, but this guy was brought here as a kid. The crime was committed by whoever hauled him in here.
And deporting an allegedly law-abiding family man gives really poor optics to the immigration discussion and may impair being able to lock it down, because “feelz” .
How many MS-13 gang members were not rounded up while they were working this guys case?
The illegals on welfare and with criminal records should be priority cases, both because it will improve the country to get rid of them and also because thats the kind of optics that aid restricting illegal immigration. This deportation does not do that, IMO.
An article last night said he had been voting. That was supposed to be the reason he was ordered out.
Should have gotten the boot 10 years ago. Or 30
Hardly law abiding by immigration laws. You have to wonder how many different false/stolen SS numbers did he live under, file tax returns, register to vote, receive eintitlements-benifits or services, etc. did he use ?
Nope, sorry—the guy registered to vote. That’s a felony. Deport!
“And deporting an allegedly law-abiding family man...”
He’s not “law abiding”. He is here illegally, and most certainly has committed identity theft if he has managed to work here for 30 years and raise a family.
And just like in the eightys we are supposed to give a blind eye and the dems will start building another 800,000 to get amnesty twenty years from now. Hell no we need to stop it now and send a message to the ones sneaking in now!!!
